Hydrogen Chloride » This chapter summarizes the relevant epidemiologic and toxicologic studies of hydrogen chloride. It presents selected chemical and physical properties, toxicokinetic and mechanistic data, and inhalation-exposure levels from the National Research Council and other agencies. The committee considered all that information in its evaluation of the U.S. Navy’s 1-h, 24-h, and 90-day exposure guidance levels for hydrogen chloride. The committee’s recommendations for hydrogen chloride exposure levels are provided at the end of this chapter with a discussion of the adequacy of the data for defining the levels and the research needed to fill the remaining data gaps. Hydrogen and oxygen isotope ratios in human hair are related to geography | PNAS » We develop and test a model to predict the geographic region-of-origin of humans based on the stable isotope composition of their scalp hair. This… Pnas.org

Hydrogen Cyanide: Acute Exposure Guideline Levels » Hydrogen cyanide (HCN) is a colorless, rapidly acting, highly poisonous gas or liquid that has an odor of bitter almonds. Most HCN is used as an intermediate at the site of production. Major uses include the manufacture of nylons, plastics, and fumigants. Exposures to HCN may occur in industrial situations as well as from cigarette smoke, combustion products, and naturally occurring cyanide compounds in foods. Sodium nitroprusside (Na2[Fe(CN)5 NO]·2H2O), which has been used as an antihypertensive in humans, breaks down into nonionized HCN. Ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
